It still have half way to go before I finish my internship, everything seems running smoothly at the moment. The ball is to be held on 25th of October. We still have one month to go and prepare before the event day!
Last time, I went to Burswood Yu Restaurant with some ball committee members for menu tasting. On that night, despite tasting the yummy dishes, it was such a great opportunity for me to meet some experienced people likes the manager in Burswood, cellar owner, chef of Yu restaurant and the theater operator. We discussed some detail information of the ball event with them and, of course, therefore, a lot of works have to follow up after the meeting.
Apart form the food, entertainment on the event night is also extremely important. There are some performances, auction, raffle and dancing time on that night. However, we need to have a very detailed planning for every single entertainment. We hired an auctioneer to host the auction for around half an hour. For this half an hour, we need to plan carefully how many volunteers and helpers will assist the event, how to spot the successful auction winner, how to get the personal details from the winner and the payment method. Every detail needs to be well planned for every single entertainment. That is a huge work to do. I recognise that event planning is not a piece of cake work! On the other hand, three of our committee members go to Beijing recently for buying the Chinese masks for the ball event. In addition, they will meet some of the performers for the entertainment during the ball night in China.
At the last meeting, we assigned people to have different responsibilities in the event night. I was being appointed to in charge of the reception task. I think it would be great fun and really cannot wait to the event day!

hi Zambi, glad that you are getting on well with your internship. Looks like you get to meet a lot of very important people in your line of work, which is very good especially for the future. It also seem like there is a lot to do just to organise a ball. Guess it is very important to get everything just right. Hope the ball goes well, and good luck with the rest of your placement, see you soon ;)
