Second Week. My Old Strategies I Seek.

The PR department is busy busy busy this week trying to come up with a strategy proposal for the National Soup Day. The one held last year only broke even and we're pretty worried that the same thing will happen this year.

Yvette told me last week to come up with a strategy proposal and I was shocked to think that I barely remember what it looked like and I was dumbfounded for a minute there. I really wish I paid more attention to assignments in Uni. I know its cliche to say it but seriously if I did , I wouldnt have been so clueless.

Thankfully, I had the whole assignment saved in my inbox and so I went through it and it all came back to me. I must admit that it was tough contructing proper strategies and even concrete sentences at times, but once you get your mojo back (even if its for an hour!) , you are able to pour out ideas and write coherently without sounding like an absolute dumbass.

Well , I hope my second week goes well. Sometimes I feel like I haven't actually been given clear instructions and I'm just making do with the 20% worth of info I'm given but hey , if this is how it works in the real world, then Ive no choice but to make do with it!

Hope you guys are doing well at work and it is definately interesting to read your postings!

I can relate to you there! I've found that all the theory you learn at uni doesn't come naturally when your new in the workforce.

I've been stuck a few times with certain terms and theory that people ask me about and i know I've learned it before but can't recall anything!

I think it's a matter of us using the theory we've learned at uni in the workplace and then it will come to us more naturally. At least lets hope so!

I have had the exact same experience when it comes to not getting enough information. It's incredibly frustrating as you know you could do a better job if you had more knowledge. I find the worse thing is that because we are new and we are interns we don't know where to find all the relevant information either.
In the beginning of my placement I felt stupid for asking so many questions but as time has gone on and you know those initial questions it is a lot easier to use your initiative and combat those situations.

good luck with the rest of your placement
