wow....hi everybody, ive been praying for this day and finally its here and am done with the internship.Ive to start the second part of my intership which is writing the report.Pr 393 was one of the best modules yet the most tiring and difficult one. Am glad that ive finished but i'll surely miss the fun and the office environment.Well, ive just registered for my final semester yesterday, 4th Aug and its time to go back to class.My final week was as busy as bees and since my bosses knew it was my final week,they gave me alot of tasks including answering calls,replying emails of interested people for our audition,making appointments for potential clients and reveiving clients in the office since my bosses were out pitching for potential clients and other company meetings.
Overview of my internship....
i can proudly say that i learnt alot during my internship period.Even though my company was not a PR agency/consultancy, i did a lot of pr tasks and communication related tasks that is essential to my education since am majoring journalism. My company, 4:thirteen media focuses mainly on advertising,branding,documentaries etc and i guess that is the main reason why i learnt alot....I did not only learn PR in the industry but also marketing,advertising and television industry...This has enabled me to improve my social and communication skills as i had to deal with different people from all walks of life.
Wow...i cant believe how far ive gone and the improvemts ive made in such a short time of period of a month and half.Infact my bosses asked me if i could join them for a part time and join them on permanently after i graduate but unfortunatly i could not take the oppurtunity as ive to concentrate on my studies and writing of the report. nevertheless, i enjoyed every second of my internship and i hope you all enjoyed yours.

My name is Desiree, I'm a third year PR/Journalism student. Wow it really sounds like you had a lot of interesting activities and tasks to do that extended your knowledge from PR to marketing and film & tv(with the documentaries).
It's amazing that you were offered a job pretty much but sad that you could not take it with uni committments.
I resonate with your comment about improving your social and communication skills. I conducted my placement at the WA Deaf Society so I certainly learnt how to broaden my social and communication skills not only with Deaf and hard of hearing but with the other stakeholders common to our line of not-for-profit organisations. It's interestins how you have to adapt your style of communicating to each different stakeholder but it is a great skill to have.
It's encouraging to hear how you enjoyed your placement and how you were offered a job at the end...gives us soon to be graduates hope :)

I'm in a similar position. Working for a marketing consultancy, I get to be involved in a whole range tasks that not only involve marketing, but PR and advertising. So I get alot of experience in a range of subjects and projects.
This is my final semester, and I have been in employed at Engelhard Consulting since January in a paid position - I've now been offered a full time position upon graduation.
