I have finally come to the end of my internship. During my time here i have learnt and seen how the world is post-Uni life, i have also been tired and busy but it has been a good experience. With the Independent Youth Fest to kickstart tomorrow, I have just followed up with the media on their receiving the press release and whether they will be in attendance for tomorrow's season kickstart event at 1Utama shopping centre, Kuala Lumpur.
The guidance afforded by my supervisor during my short stint with her organization has been a boon and i feel that my work and stay here has been an invaluable experience. Over the period of my internship i have written press releases, factsheets, media advisory, monitored media content and liaised with the media. Functions which i would not have imagined i would be doing, to practice it seems so different from what we learn.
The practical aspect of bringing 'out' the PR theories in me was a fun aspect of my internship, interacting and being given the opportunity to create the releases etc. was also a delightful experince, although it was edited by my supervisor before release to the media. My short internship stint has been a really good, enjoyable and educative one and i hope that everyone else had as much fun and learning during their respective internships.
