A Simple Posting Continued 2nd Time.

Hi Everyone,

It's me again. I am not a good blogger at all and hopes that my posting will not bored anyone to sleep.

As what I have mentioned in my previous posting, I am helping out in doing a publication for this coming major event in about 2 weeks time. It is a tedious job as we are coordinating different inputs from several sources for this publication. This programme booklet as what we called it, will be published in four languages (namely English, French, Spanish and Arabic) per booklet and it is a 64-pages publication so as to say all the information to be included per language will be limited to 16-pages maximum. I am given the task of proof-reading the documents several times and get all the information lay-out in a way that will squeeze it within the 16-pages but of course only in the English language. After when this is done, then we will have it translate into the other three languages by engaging professional.

Time-management as what some people have posted is indeed very important and crucial in any industry. We need to get the publication ready before the commencement of the event in about 2 weeks time and time is really not on our side as there are still a lot to be done. Nevertheless, we are doing everything possible to get it out on time.

That's all for now and hope that I could come out with something more interesting in my next posting.

Hey Jeff,

Your internship seems interesting and quite different from the rest of the other internships. Book publishing, I bet takes a huge amount of preparation. Especially when it will be translated into a few other languages. How will your firm get these books translated? By oursourcing?

I anticipate things will get even more interesting for you when the books are all published and you need to create publicity for them. :) Good luck!

Hi Jeff,

Book Publishing! WOW, a very interesting internship position you've got there. Just want to say Good on you, for doing so. Working for a project which will be translated into several other languages, what an experience that will be for you. And, Yes 'Time Management' is vital with every project, but in your case you've got to really stick to it... No time to be lagging behind, especially when it's going to be published. Will you be interacting with the interpreter yourself?

Looking forward for your future posts.

Hi Fidah,

Not really book publishing, just a programme booklet for a major event that is happening this week in Singapore. And yes, the department actually outsourced the translation part.

Hi Indery,

No, I am not the one to interact with the translator as you should know I am only an intern there. I only helped out in proof-reading the documents and checking whether the layouts are in order.
