Public Relations: Through my Eyes Part II - Love4Life

Hey everyone!

I'm down to my last one and a half weeks of the Internship and I've just been given the green light for a project that came out of my little brain (or at least what's left of it!). The inspiration came after listening to a song created by the High School of Recording Arts, Minnesota for the victims of the 7.0 Haiti Earthquake. So I brainstormed with a close friend, proposed to idea to my boss and she loved it!

Now, I'm working on an event proposal for a full day Fundraiser which is going to be held in one of the local shopping malls - Bangsar Shopping Complex. With help from family and friends as well as a few other known people, we're aiming to raise as much as we can for the Haitian children.

Love4Life will be running throughout the day on the 7th of February 2010 with lots of games and fun for children and a shopping bazaar for parents! Eco Friendly Teeshirt & Bag Painting, Cookies&Cakes Sale, Food Sale & a Fashion Bazaar.

More on my "Pusaka" project in the next post! Hope everyone's having heaps of fun! xx

Hi Ashwini,
Interesting Ideas on your internship tasks. What exactly are you suppose to come up with in relation to the event proposal for your internship? Are they similar to the PR units you have learnt so far? excluding materials like speeches, media invites, press releases etc. as what the company I am on requires me to start off with on my 1st two weeks.

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for your comment. The event proposal that I'm working on is very similar to those done in Media as well as Consultancy. Although not as detailed as what we've been taught during those two units as the event is a one-day thing. I'm working on things such as the proposed event details, ideas and what will be done on the day of the fundraiser, budget plan, media coverage (this is not so wide as this is a very last minute project and since its being held in a shopping complex which is quite known to many people, we're not that worried about the response that we'd receive).

I hope your internship goes well. :)
