Hi everyone.
Well the big weekend of concerts has come and gone now.
It was amazing to see all of the work that everyone had put into the event come to life. Even to see all of the corporates with the lanyards that took me for ever to make, hang around their necks with a little bit gratifying!
The run up week to the concerts was not quite as hectic as I expected it to be. Everything was well organised with nothing really left to the last minute. In the last week our PR rep rammed up the media relations and we had a story in the Sunday Times and a story on our grounds and security head, which was a real human interest story.
On Saturday day we went out to the winery and our first task was to place out the 1500 place cards I had make the two days before hand. I was interesting to see even though the floor plan (which I become VERY familiar with!) was interpreted incorrectly and tables that should have been set for 12 were set for 8 and and some 10s were meant to be 12s and it all got a little confusing for a bit! It was good walking through the marquee once it was filled with its guests seeing all the planning of their seating worked out perfectly.
The concerts themselves where fabulous. There was only one mess ups that I heard about. In the corporate marquee a glass centre piece vase fell onto a lady and impounded her skin. Another interesting moment came on Saturday night when guests came to the corporate marquee and requested a photograph with one of the attending guests. Both me and my supervisor did not really think it would be appropriate and so the photo did not take place.
On Sunday we got to attend the concert and Barrel Room tasting and so get to sit back a relax a bit! The Barrel Room was interesting. The head wine maker spoke to a group of about 50 people about the news wines coming out including the 2007 Chardonnay which gets premiered every year at the concerts. The main attendees to this were clients. Our biggest clients. They were able to learn about the wines and taste the wines.
The weekend was excellent. Getting to see all of the work come together and see what we where working towards. The best feeling was seeing people really enjoy themselves and the artists. Seeing the little 'most pits' being created on either side of the stage was great to see!
All in all, it was a great experience.

Aleast you have got the chance to attend such an event, as for me i have been in the office and it gets really boring even there is much to be done. Hopefully i will get to attend an event this week, we have been working on a project with some perfume and deoderant manufuturing company, coming up with ideas as to how they can improve their sales, as well as familiarising people about the brand.
