METHODIST CHURCH PRESS CONFERENCE

It was such a great honor to be part of the invited guest from the media on 29 January 2010 when Methodist church presiding bishop Ivan Abrahams was in francistown.It was also the bishop's first visit to the city.

during the press conference there were a number of issues the bishop pointed out,like working towards the Methodist church's vision also to comply fully with all regulations pertaining to the church.The congregation is determined to serve all people equally regardless of their gender and status.

The church has also implemented the stop hunger campaign. This is in collaboration with one of American non government organization. Since the campaign was started, they managed to raise R10 000 that was shared among the communities of Lesotho and South Africa. They hope to raise R 1 million that they will contribute to various parts of Southern Africa and hopefully cover Botswana as well.


CITY OF FRANCISTOWN PRESS CONFERENCE


on the 1st February there was yet another press conference at City of Francistown council. The motive behind this was to share with members of the press about their twinning partnership with city of Genk council based in Belgium.

Genk council based in Belgium has donated a cheque worth 15 000 euros to the city of Francistown on behalf of the city’s youth on 1st February at civic centre. The money will be used to purchase computers that will in turn help in the development of education amongst the youth more especially on Information Technology.
