Hello Everyone,
My name is Chondelle and this is my first blog entry about my internship. I am working with a sports management company called "Watch This Space Management" (WTS). I work with a group of men and one thing for sure is that there is never a dull day. My supervisor is Ryan Campbell (Cambo) and I work predominately with him throughout my internship.
For my first day on the job, I walked into the office and sat down with Cambo. Within 30 seconds of being in the office, Cambo Said to me, "Mate, you need to organise a press conference for Erin McGowan and Jeff Fenech next week". Erin McGowan is the WBO Lightweight World Champion and Jeff Fenech is a three time World Champion and boxing legend.
At first I thought I did not have the confidence or experience to organise a press conference. Though with the supervison of Cambo, it turned out being a walk in the park and on the day, he was more stressed than I was. As soon as I was given the task, Cambo gave me the contact numbers and email addresses of every Perth media personality. It was such a great expereience to be working with the top notch journalists on my first day.
The media conference went really well, I also had to arrange radio interviews with the pair and guest appearances at the Footy. Erin and Jeff had a huge amount of coverage on Channel 7, 9, 10, Fox Sports, The West (and online), Sunday Times, Nova 93.7, 6PR, 96 FM, 92.9fm. They also were the guest speakers for one of Freo's games at Paterson stadium.
So for my first week of my internship, I was thrown in the deep end and I had a lot of responsibility. It was such a great way to learn and with the guidance from Cambo and other mentors, it proved to be so much fun and great to work with such amazing people.

Wow Chondelle, what a daunting thing to organise on your first day! Congratulations, being thrown in the deep end usually ends up being the biggest learning experience. Sounds like a fantastic place to be networking. Exciting too with Erin McGowan - get any boxing tips??
