AT THE END OF IT ALL

Sereo Godira Thabeng

LUCT

During this internship i  learnt that at The Chateau even though they face a problem of shortage of staff the PR&Comms department tries very hard to meet their responsibilities. The department demonstrates skill and expertise in the field, with the success of the many events that they have hosted we are shown how work they put into their practice to ensure that they are able to persuade and create awareness about The Chateau.
With their ability to create an event that ensured they practiced corporate social responsibility The Chateau showed that Public relations practitioners are taught of the significance of social responsibility which imposes that the practitioners  “must also fulfill expectations and moral obligations at the level of society”(Cutlip,Center and Broom2000, 146).
Overall, the placement had been a fantastic experience, with many positive outcomes. At present, I feel more ready and willing to work in the PR department of any company, as I have been able to get a good insight of hands-on experience.
This experience made me more curious about Public Relation and edged me to want to learn more, i was able to analyze myself as an individual, to understand the kind of person that i am in the workplace, how i related to my colleagues and most importantly i got to learn my strengths and weaknesses.
These 8 weeks at The Chateau have undoubtedly had an impact in my life and i look forward to finishing school and joining the real PR world.
Thank you!!
