Anyone want to donate?

Hi Guys

Sam here again,

This post is about seeking donations and how to actually do it. Seeking donations for a not-for-profit organisation is very challenging and certainly quite exciting. The task was very interesting and also very time consuming. A lot of research was conducted in regards to how to contact the correct places, who we firstly wanted to contact and how you approach these parties. All previous donators we contacted via email or letters, knowing they don’t mind this form of communication. Getting in touch with new businesses, we wanted to contact the manager or owner in person to get their approval and then send all the information via their desired address. This was exciting to say the least, being able to contact businesses across Australia and receive a lot of positive responses and reactions. This was certainly a very rewarding experience.  Thankfully all the effort put in did result in a significant amount of donations. I targeted for a new range of accessories and restaurants/eateries and also donations directed at young children. The team at West Perth all approach their friends who either managed or owned a business to try and receive pieces. Which was fantastic and I feel very proud to be a part of it! Of course I also received a few rejections, but that was something I expected with the respect of those businesses already contributing some form of donation to other causes. Too which I completely respect and think how great that so many organisations are actually helping out society.

Hope everyone is going well!

Sam.
